On Wednesday, December 14, 2005 GEM conducted the 2005 Annual Meeting at the Cedar Point Center at BGSU Firelands.

Director's Report

2005 Year In Review, covered the major events that happened at GEM and the strategic goals and objectives that GEM is pursuing.  2005 has been a year of change, creativity and celebration.  The Tax Reform Legislation and the Cuno vs. Daimler-Chrysler Case has forced GEM to become creative with their retention & expansion efforts.  Lear Corporation adding 220 new jobs is a result of a creative incentive package put together as a joint effort with the State of Ohio, the City of Huron and GEM.  The celebration part of 2005 came with the announcement of GEM being named to the Top 10 Economic Development Groups in North America!!!  Look inside to see what 2006 might hold for GEM.

Ohio Economic Development Association - OEDA

Executive Director, J.C. Wallace, addressed the 2005 GEM Annual Meeting attendees.  Mr. Wallace informed the group about the 2006 plans for OEDA and Team Ohio to marketing the State of Ohio.  GEM partners with the OEDA and Team Ohio to leverage capital investment and job creation for the State of Ohio and Erie County.
