Project Announcement On March 27, 2006 the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a six-year tax credit worth about $194,000 for ThorWorks Industries Inc. in Perkins Township. ThorWorks officials, GEM, the State of Ohio and Perkins Township officials worked together to help the company to expand it's current facility. ThorWorks Industries is doing a $2.21 million expansion project that will include $150,000 in new construction, $350,000 in building renovations, $1.7 million in new machinery and equipment and $10,000 in professional fees. The tax credit authority approved a 55 percent six-year tax credit. 35 new jobs will be created with the average hourly wage of $13 per hour, plus $3.75 an hour in benefits. The company currently employs 180 people in there Perkins Twp. facility. In addition to the tax credit, Ohio officials also approved a $22,000 training grant to help pay for the cost of training the new employees. Perkins Township trustees are supporting the expansion by improving Stoll Avenue. ThorWorks is an important producer of coal tar emulsion pavement sealer for roads, parking lots and driveways, under the SealMaster brand of products. |
